Yes, we do. We carry flooring protective blankets.
  • How do you make the fillers?
A filler is a piece of finished wood used to "fill" openings or gaps between cabinets, or a cabinet and any obstruction. There are two types of filler: flush cabinet and flush doors. Our default filler is “flush cabinet”. “Flush door” fillers give a custom look and requires more materials to make.
  • How do you control sawdust?
We use a top-of-the-line Festool HEPA dust extractor that can trap 99.5% of tiny dust particles from recirculating back into the air. All our saws are hooked up with this extractor, leaving the job site (your living space) dust-free. All of our saws are hooked up with the dust extractor when cutting inside. This helps keeping our work area clean. The dust from sawing operations is trapped inside the HEPA filtering system resulting in a clean returned air.

We arrive between 8:30 AM and 10:00 AM.

Yes. The customer is responsible for ensuring that all necessary materials are on-site before our arrival.

Yes. Our go-back fee is $250 +tx plus the work to be completed.
  • Do I need to use the suspension rail for IKEA cabinets, or can I screw them directly to the wall?
The backer board is the significant difference between IKEA cabinets and normal ones. IKEA uses 1/8” hardboard as backing, while other cabinets have solid backing 1/2” to 3/4” thick. Because of that difference, you can’t mount IKEA cabinets by screwing them to the studs. You must use the suspension rail.
  • Can I replace adjustable plastic legs with custom bases?
Yes, as long as the new bases maintain the proper height for the cabinets. Ensure the dishwasher has enough clearance.
  • My doors are misaligned after installation. How can I fix this?
IKEA hinges allow for fine adjustments. Use the screws to tweak the height, depth, and side-to-side alignment of the doors.
  • My cabinets aren’t level on uneven walls. What’s the fix?
Use shims behind the suspension rail to level it before installing the cabinets. Proper rail alignment is key to ensuring level cabinets.
  • What’s the minimum gap needed between cabinets and walls for doors to open?
You can go as close as 1/4” to the wall. The recommended 2” gap ensures door handles have clearance to open fully, but the door itself won’t scrape even if the cabinet is flush with the wall.
  • Is it possible to mix SEKTION / METOD and KNOXHULT systems?
Mixing them isn’t recommended. Knoxhult uses different drilling patterns for doors and drawers. Integrating the systems would require custom drilling and could increase installation costs.
  • How can I make custom-width or height SEKTION cabinets?
You can customize the cabinets to any size by cutting a larger cabinet down to the desired dimensions. Ensure the final size is compatible with IKEA doors and drawer fronts.
  • Can I modify a 47” IKEA corner base cabinet to use an 18” or 15” door?
You can modify a 47” IKEA corner cabinet to accept an 18” or 15” door. However, the lazy Susan/carousel feature can only work with a 21” or wider door. With a smaller door; you’d need to opt for shelves instead.
  • What are the biggest mistakes you see time and time again?
The biggest mistakes are: Miscalculation of the room dimensions leads to wrong cabinet choices. Keeping all the electrical plugs, hood vent and plumbing as is from the previous kitchen, thinking that they would accommodate the new layout. Not consulting with an installer before the installation to see if an idea is feasible or not.
  • How close to the ceiling can you install an upper cabinet and a high pantry cabinet?
Minimum clearance between the top of the wall cabinets or high cabinets and the ceiling is 3/4”. If the space is less than 3/4”, the doors might hit a lower point of the ceiling or hit the spotlight’s casing.
  • I don’t like the corner pieces IKEA offers; I would rather lose the space than achieve the look I want. What could be put in place to support the countertop weight?
You can install FIXA brackets onto the studs on the perpendicular walls at the corner to support the countertop. Make sure that each bracket is fixed onto at least one stud.
  • Is using some PVA in dowels while assembling the cabinets a bad idea?
You don’t have to, but it doesn’t hurt to do so. It won’t do anything to the frame’s integrity anyway. Furniture makers use glue in dowels because they will clamp the pieces together during curing time. The pieces won’t separate when the glue dries, regardless of the wood movement. With IKEA furniture, the cam locks replace the clamping element using glue. Also, particle boards move much less than real wood. Adding glue to the dowels makes the joints permanent, but that’s all.
  • What’s the best way to create a base cabinet with door for a corner sink?
Here’s one option for confined space corner sink: Use the 26x30” corner wall cabinet. Install the legs to make it a base cabinet. Add the cleats in the back to support the countertop. Dig a hole for the sink. Better option if there’s enough space to fit a full cabinet.
